　　灯光从门缝里漏了出来。王强停在门铃上方的手，迟迟按不下去。
　　三年前，王强离了婚，带着一笔钱和情人去了省城。钱花光了，情人便把他甩了。王强懊悔不已，无脸去见前妻，见亲娘。他只好四处漂泊，度日如年。
　　现在，他还是回来了，身心疲惫地站在门外。
　　鼓足勇气，他终于按响了门铃。
　　前妻见到王强时显然很意外，眼里充满着疑惑，表情很复杂。
　　我能进去坐坐吗？前妻不置可否，一个转身，算是把王强让进了屋。
　　家具摆设一点儿没变，这让王强有种刻骨的痛。屋内静得可怕，他试图打破沉默。
　　“我，咳！”王强一时语塞。
　　“别咳，屋里睡着人呢。”前妻小声地制止，用手指了指卧室，一脸的冷漠。
　　有人？王强心里咯噔了一下，他们没有儿女啊！他随即又明白了，离婚这么久了，人家凭什么得单身！
　　王强一时觉得很尴尬，苦笑道：“打扰了，我这就走。兰儿，我对不起你！我……我祝你们幸福！我这辈子最对不起的人有两个，一个是你，一个是我娘……”
　　王强想把压抑在心里的话一股脑儿倒出来，可话没说完他就哽噎了。
　　前妻不出声，眼里含着泪花，定定地望着王强。
　　这时，卧室的门开了：
　　“是我的强儿吗？”

　　The lamplight is dripping out of the door. It is really hard for Wang Qiang to reach his hand ringing the doorbell.
　　Three years ago, Wang Qiang divorced his wife and went to the capital city with a sum of money and his mistress. When all his money gone, his mistress deserted him; in deep regrets, Wang Qiang was ashamed of meeting his ex-wife and his mother. He couldn’t but wander everywhere, counting painful days.
　　Now he’s come back at the door, exhausted both physically and mentally.
　　Gathering up his courage, he pushes the doorbell.
　　Seeing Wang Qiang again, she seems surprised, with questions in her eyes and complex expressions on her face.
　　“May I come in for a while?”
　　She doesn’t say yes or no, but turns around; Wang Qiang steps indoors.
　　All pieces of furniture are in place, which is a bitter pain to Wang Qiang. There is a terrifying dead silence in the room. He tries to say something.
　　“I…” Then he utters a loud cough.
　　“Hush! Someone is sleeping in the bedroom.” She warns in a low voice, pointing to the bedroom with her hand, her face cold and detached.
　　Someone? Wang Qiang hears a crack in his heart. But they’ve got no kid. Then he comes to. As a divorced woman, how come she remains single?
　　“Sorry to have disturbed you. I’m going now. I’m sorry, Lan’er. But I…I wish you happy. For my life I owe a great debt to you and my mother…” Embarrassed, Wang Qiang says with a bitter smile.
　　Wang Qiang intends to pour out all emotions long-suppressed in his heart, but he chokes halfway.
　　Silently, with tears in eyes, she fixes a steady gaze at Wang Qiang.
　　“Is that you, my son?” With this the door to the bedroom opens.
