　　二十年前，诚实的父亲带诚实看戏猴。
　　诚实的父亲对诚实说：你看那猴子真听主人的话，表演得非常好，人们都给它丢水果了。
　　诚实说：那猴子真贱，为了几个水果什么动作都做出来。
　　诚实的父亲生气地拍了诚实一巴掌说：那猴子不那么做，谁给它丢吃的东西。
　　二十年后，诚实带着他的儿子看戏猴。
　　诚实对他儿子说：你看那猴子真听主人的话，表演得非常好，人们都给它丢水果了。
　　诚实的儿子说：那猴子真聪明，为了吃到水果懂得做滑稽的动作讨好人们。
　　诚实生气地拍了他儿子一巴掌说：哎你这龟儿子，怎么那么小就长势利眼了呢！我为了得到人们送给吃的东西而讨好人们二十年，这二十年，我活得像一只猴子啊。

　　Twenty years ago, Mr. Honest’s father took him to a monkey’s performance.
　　“Look at that monkey, so obedient and docile; with such a great performance, he will be rewarded with fresh fruits.” said the father to his son.
　　“What a humble monkey, performing various actions merely for the sake of fruits!” said the son.
　　“Who’d feed the monkey otherwise!” said the father, so irritated as to slap his son by the buttocks.
　　Twenty years afterwards, Mr. Honest took his son to a monkey’s performance.
　　“Look at that monkey, so obedient and docile; with such a great performance, he will be rewarded with fresh fruits.” said the father to his son.
　　“What a smart monkey, performing those funny actions to please the audience for the sake of fruits!” said the son.
　　“Hey, my son! What a snobbish kid you are! For twenty years I’ve been pleasing others for the sake of living necessities. For the past damned twenty years I’ve been living like a monkey!” said the father, so irritated as to slap his son by the buttocks.
