Xiao Fang
By Lin Fangping
The half moon was hanging on the branch of a tree.
The placid river was shining with silvery dots of light; the quiet shore was lying still like a sleeping dragon. To the distance ran the woods on the slope, dark and mysterious.
On the shore, there was a hut whose plank door remained open.
Stretching herself, Xiao Fang was sleeping on a cool bed, her head in the direction of the door.
Her husband worked on the river helping catch fish, coming back home every day or on alternate days. Xiao Fang was annoyed at his smell of fish when he was home; yet she was worried about him when he was out.
Some perching birds were scared to fly away when a man was sliding out of the woods like a cat. Gliding along the wall, he sneaked into the hut and silently began to search the wardrobe and the drawers. He was being in a haste to bundle all the clothing and the ornaments when he stumbled over a stool at the door. A slight squeak sank into the peaceful night.
Turning over in bed, Xiao Fang mumbled, “Bastard, are you home?”
Scared so much, the man almost had the bundle dropped off his hand.
The woman reverting to her sleep, the man quietly retreated to the door.
With the dim light, the woman on the cool bed seemed covered by a soft veil, having on only her vest and shorts, her complexion bright and clean. She was breathing evenly, her profile in an exquisite curve, fluctuating elegantly. The man was so much stirred in a blood surge that an evil thought occurred to him. Dropping the bundle to the floor, he threw himself on her.
“Greedy man! Catching fish all day, aren’t you tired?” Half asleep, Xiao Fang allowed her shorts being pulled off.
The man was about to screw in when suddenly a breeze awakened the woman to an unfamiliar odor. Grabbing the stick from bedside, she banged him with it as she bent her legs and kicked his penis.
“Ouch!” With a monstrous cry, the man covered his crotch and ran away like a rat.
Folding her hands on her chest, Xiao Fang couldn’t sleep any longer. When she replayed what had just happened, there were still butterflies in her stomach. Conjuring up the smell of fish in her memory, she felt a gentle fragrant sweet current flowing in her heart.
