爱情誓言/陈鸿
　　
　　一个青年跪在神像前痛哭流涕，他向神喃喃地倾诉着自己的不幸：曾经热恋的女友辜负了他的一片痴心，远去了，让他痛苦万分，心都快碎了。
　　突然，那人又愤怒地谴责起神来：当年我们一起在你面前发过重誓，谁先背叛对方，谁就要遭到天打雷劈，可是，这么长时间过去了，她还好好的，是你没有作为，难道你没有听到我们的誓言吗？
　　殿堂的角落里有两只蜘蛛，黑亮亮的。一只正躺在自家的八卦图上沉思；不远处，另一只在织了一半的网上忙碌着，显然，它刚搬来。
　　“问个问题可以吗？”新搬来的蜘蛛说道。
　　“希望知道什么？”
　　“难道我们的神真的没有听到这两个人的誓言？”
　　“切！”先进殿门的蜘蛛叹了声，眼神迷茫而深邃：“人类总喜欢信誓旦旦，却不可当真。尤其那爱情，更是变化无常，人类的誓言，在智者的耳中，不过是戏言罢了。”
　　
　　Lovers’ Oaths

　　A young man kneels down sobbing before the statue of God; in a murmur he tells God about his own misfortune: His beloved girlfriend betrayed him, deserted him, and left him broken-hearted in extreme agony.
　　Suddenly the young man, in much anger, sets off blaming God: Once we both made solemn oaths before you that whoever should betray the other would be struck by the lightning and split into two halves; for so long a time, however, she’s been fine. Why not punish her? Haven’t you heard our oaths?”
　　Meanwhile in the corner of the hall, there are two brilliant black spiders, one lying in its net meditating, the other nearby, obviously a newcomer, being busy with a half-finished net.
　　“May I ask a question?” said the newcomer.
　　“Go ahead.”
　　“Isn’t it possible that God has failed to hear those two lovers’ oaths?”
　　“Nonsense!” The meditator sighs, looking far and deep. “Men make oaths all the time but they never take them serious. In the case of a romance, oaths are exceptionally unreliable. Men’s oaths, in a philosopher’s ear, are nothing but jokes.”
