　　凯?杰瑞走进医院时着实让同事们吃了一惊——他的胡子看上去有很长时间没修剪过了，蓝色衬衫的衣领也显得脏兮兮的，但他朝每个人微笑的表情却很灿烂。
　　凯?杰瑞像往常一样让助手马上把病人的病历拿给他看。
　　他认真听着主治大夫对病人情况的介绍，并不时表达一下自己的判断。
　　不知什么时候，被惊动而来的院长站到了凯?杰瑞身后：“你能来我很高兴，伙计。”院长毫不掩饰自己内心的激动。
　　凯?杰瑞摆了摆手，与助手等人开始研究手术方案。然后在前呼后拥下去病房探视了病人。几乎每个看到凯?杰瑞的同事都会惊讶地用手捂紧了嘴巴。
　　“我来手术，马上。”凯?杰瑞下达了命令。
　　“伙计，你真的想好了？”院长望着凯?杰瑞：“我是说，你有足够的心理准备吗？他们很快就会找到这里的……”
　　凯?杰瑞笑了笑，用手拍了拍院长的肩膀。然后，领着一干人等走进手术室……他的脚步看上去非常镇定……
　　六个小时以后，凯?杰瑞微笑着走出手术室。
　　他在同事们的掌声中走向停在医院门口的警车。

　　Key Jerry surprised his colleagues indeed when he showed up in the hospital, his whiskers apparently unshaved for days, the collar of his blue shirt thoroughly stained, while a bright smile on his face.
　　Just as usual, Key Jerry asked his assistant to show him the patient’s case.
　　Attentively listening to the attending doctor introduce the patient’s condition, Key Jerry occasionally made his judgment.
　　Without anyone’s notice, the president came standing behind Key Jerry.
　　“I am glad you are here, buddy.” said the president, fully exposing his excitement.
　　Key Jerry waved his hand as he started consulting with his assistant and other doctors about the surgical operation plan. Then he was escorted to go visiting with the patient in the ward, where all his colleagues shut up their mouths in astonishment.
　　“The operation is mine. Action!” ordered Key Jerry.
　　“Buddy, are you ready---?” inquired the president, “I mean, is it a considered decision? They will soon come here for you.”
　　Smiling, Key Jerry patted the president on the shoulder; then with perfectly calm paces, he headed for the operation room with his team.
　　Six hours later, Key Jerry stepped out with a triumphant smile.
　　His colleagues’ applauses accompanied him to the police cruiser which had waited outside the hospital.
