　　不知咋的，局长迷上了唱京戏。
　　经常能听见局长办公室传来一阵阵让我们听不懂的京腔小调。一天，我送报告请局长批示时，见局长挺着大腹便便的肚子正在练习某段京戏。那大汗淋漓的样子煞是辛苦。我慌忙倒了一杯清茶给局长。局长抿了一口对我说：“小王啊，你们年轻人不要一下班就打牌，搓麻将。要过得充实点呀。唱唱这京戏就不错。”我听了，受宠若惊，连连点头。心想：局长日理万机，还这么关心员工的业余生活。我一定不辜负他老人家的厚望，学唱好这京戏。
　　局长迷上了京戏，全域上下也掀起了一股学唱京戏的热潮。对此，局长很高兴。在局里的一次大会上慷慨发言：“弘扬中华传统国粹文化，加强社会主义精神文明建设，同志们做得都很好。为充实大家的业余生活，我宣布，今后我局定期举办京剧比赛，每月和市京剧团进行联谊互动一次......”大家听后，都很激动，掌声经久不息。
　　数月之后，离婚独居多年的局长突然宣布要结婚。参加婚礼时，大家觉得局长夫人很是面熟，仔细一想，这不就是市京剧团那位艺号“赛贵妃”、擅唱《贵妃醉酒》的当家女花旦吗？
　　婚礼过后，京戏热很快在局里偃旗息鼓了。又过了三个月，我有事找局长时，看见局长挥汗如雨地跳起了迪斯科......

　　Somehow, Director General got addicted to performing Beijing opera.
　　From time to time Director General was heard humming unfamiliar tunes of Beijing opera in his office. One day when presenting a report for him to sign, I saw Director General rehearsing some act by straightening his back with much effort, drenched in sweat. I readily poured him a cup of tea. “Xiao Wang, a young man like you mustn’t play cards or mahjong after work; to lead a rich life, performing Beijing opera is a good choice.” Director General said as he sipped the tea. Overwhelmed by his kindness, I nodded constantly while thinking for myself, “With a host of problems to cope, Director General is so much concerned with his subordinate’ s leisure life; I’ll certainly live up to his expectation by learning Beijing opera.”
　　Since Director General got addicted to Beijing opera, there rose a rush of learning Beijing opera around the department. Delighted at the situation, Director General once made a fervent speech at the staff meeting, “Comrades, you are doing very well in promoting and developing good traditions and the quintessence of Chinese culture, and in enhancing the construction of socialist spiritual civilization; to further enrich your leisure life, here I propose, Beijing opera contests should be held regularly, parties of friendship and cooperation with Opera Troupe once a month…” The excited audience burst out lasting clapping.
　　Several months later, Director General, who had remained single after a divorce, suddenly declared his wedding. At the ceremony, all the guests felt familiar with the bride; turning it over, they realized that she was the leading actress of Opera Troupe, by the stage name of Saiguifei(which means “as beautiful as a noble concubine”), who was best at “Drunken Concubine”.
　　After the wedding, the rush of Beijing opera was soon disappearing. Another three months later, when I entered his office, I saw Director General dancing disco feverishly, drenched in sweat.
