　　当当当。
　　啪啪啪。
　　哐哐哐。
　　门突然开了。室内，红光满面，气度不凡的金处长，因来访者干扰了他网上聊天而满脸怒容。
　　从门外进来的是一位满头白发，满面皱纹的老太太，因特想见儿子一面而焦急万分。她是金处长的母亲。
　　金处长看是母亲，便问你怎么知道我就在屋内？老母亲得意地说：“我听见了咳嗽声。”从小到大，儿子有习惯性干咳的毛病。儿子想不通，母亲耳背，听话都需大声说，今天怎么听见自己轻轻的咳嗽声呢？真怪。
　　母亲问寒问暖，爱抚有加。儿子心猿意马，烦躁不安。
　　突然，儿子警觉地问母亲是否听见了干咳声，母亲摇头。儿子心里说：“不会错，肯定是我们局长来了。”局长平常也有干咳的习惯，金处长对这点很敏感。
　　金处长像服了兴奋剂一样，精神抖擞冲出门外。一点不错，果然是局长朝这里走来。
　　空荡荡的屋子里，只留下孤零零的老太太在等她的亲儿子。

　　Clang. Clang. Clang.
　　Crack. Crack. Crack.
　　Crash. Crash. Crash.
　　Suddenly the door opens. Mr. Jin, who has been radiant and tolerant, looks annoyed at the visitor interrupting his chatting on line.
　　There comes an old, anxious, white-haired, wrinkled woman, who happens to be Mr. Jin’s mother.
　　“Why are you convinced it’s me in the office?” Mr. Jin inquires his mother. “I’ve heard your coughing.” She says pleasantly. She knows since his childhood he has developed the habit of dry coughing, while he knows her hearing has faded so much so that he has to talk to her loudly. Then why did she manage to hear his light coughing? He wonders.
　　The mother asks about her son’s life with deep concern; the son responds absent-mindedly and uneasily.
　　Suddenly he turns alert, asking his mother whether or not she has heard a dry cough. She shakes her head. “I know for sure Director General is coming!” He says to himself. Director General has the habit of dry coughing, to which Mr. Jin is very sensitive.
　　Mr. Jin dashes out of his office as if he had just taken a stimulant. He is right. It is Director General who is approaching.
　　The empty room watches a lonely old woman waiting for her son.
