把刀放下/马帮
　　
　　“把刀放下！”一个声音在黑暗中吼着。他左右张望，有点张惶失措。
　　“把刀放下！”那声音又一次传出。他向后退了几步，更紧张了。
　　“我要你把刀放下！”黑暗中的声音第三次吼起来。他吓得撒腿就跑。其实，他手上根本没刀。第二天，有几个警察模样的人找到他，问他昨夜是否杀人。他惊恐得直打哆嗦，说自己昨夜什么也没干。
　　“可那刀上有你指纹！”警察逼视着他的眼睛。他再一次重复自己昨夜什么也没干。警察对他的表现有点不满。他担心自己会被带走。这时，外面有人敲门。进来的几个没穿警服的人示意那几个询问他的警察可以走了，他这才放下心来。但还是充满恐惧。
　　刀上为什么会有他的指纹呢？昨夜到底发生了什么？他一时也理不清头绪。他隐约记得开始好像有人喊救命，他捏着菜刀追下去，可黑咕隆咚的，他什么也没看清。后来，连菜刀也弄丢了。几天后，他去看心理医生，医生说他应该多休息，否则会出现幻觉或恐惧。

　　“Put down your knife!” There came a voice roaring out of the dark. He looked around, somewhat scared.
　　“Put down your knife!” The voice came again. A few steps backward, he became rather nervous.
　　“I ORDER YOU TO PUT DOWN YOUR KNIFE!” There in the dark came the voice a third time. So much frightened, he turned to run away. He wasn’t holding a knife or something, indeed. The following day, several guys in uniform came questioning him whether or not he had murdered someone the previous night. He shivered with great fear, mumbling that he hadn’t.
　　“But there on the knife are your fingerprints!” The cops were staring into his eyes. He repeated that he hadn’t murdered anyone the previous night. His reply seemingly disagreeing with the cops, he was afraid that he might be taken to the station. At that point, there was a knock on the door. Into the room stepped several men in plain clothes, motioning to the uniformed cops to stop the questioning and go out. He felt a relief, though fear persisted.
　　How come his fingerprints were on the knife? What the hell had happened the previous night? He couldn’t work out a line of his thoughts. Vaguely he remembered, it seemed at first, someone was crying for help when he grabbed a kitchen knife and chased along. But it was all dark. He saw nothing. Later the kitchen knife was missing. A few days afterwards, he went consulting a psychiatrist, who then suggested that he should have more rest; or he would be affected with illusion or fear.
